Jonas Sanker recently went viral this weekend for his stellar performance and his uncanny resemblance to Jalen Hurts. Despite being different in size, the two players share similar facial features and appear and look almost identical from certain angles. A short clip showing Sanker at the combine quickly circulated on social media, which sparked comparisons between the two athletes.
Many NFL fans noted how the similarity wasn’t as noticeable prior to cutting his long hair. However, following his new short fade haircut and goatee, the pair have seemingly showcased strong resemblances. In response to the recent viral buzz, Sanker downplayed the comparisons and simply stated:

Jonas Sanker shines at 2025 NFL Combine
Sanker is currently out making an impressive showing at the 2025 NFL Scouting Combine. The 6-foot-1, 210-pound defender recorded an impressive 4.48-second 40-yard dash, a 36.5-inch vertical jump, and a 10-foot-8-inch broad jump. Aside from these feats, he also displayed his fluidity and athleticism during on-field drills. Following his performances, Sanker is currently projected as a mid-to-late-round pick in the upcoming NFL Draft.

Jonas Sanker is a young American football safety who was born in November 2002, in Charlottesville, Virginia. He is currently 22 years old and grew up playing multiple sports before focusing on football. Jonas notably played for the Virginia Cavaliers in the Atlantic Coast Conference (ACC) and he was initially rated as a three-star recruit who committed to Boston College before joining Virginia.

Jonas is the third-oldest of seven Sanker children and in addition to Thomas and Lena, 11-year-old Elias lives in the family’s brick home on Charlottsville’s north side.
Jeannette Sanker, the family matriarch, does her best to manage her kids’ busy schedules while continuing to care for her husband and like their father, a former college football player at Colgate University, all the Sankers play sports.

Jonas Sanker played college football for the Virginia Cavaliers despite initially having committed for Boston College. As a freshman in 2021, Jonas recorded five tackles during his sophomore season. He finished the 2022 season with a total of 63 tackles, half a tackle for a loss, two pass deflections, an interception, a forced fumble, and one fumble recovery.
The following season in 2023, Jonas led the Cavaliers with 107 total tackles, including four tackles for loss, 11 pass deflections, two fumble recoveries, and three forced fumbles. As a result of his outstanding performances, he earned the First-Team All-ACC honors.
