Speaking ahead of the ICC T20 World Cup 2021, Virat Kohli claimed he was unaware of Rahul Dravid becoming the next head coach of Team India
Unfortunately for Virat Kohli, his friend and personally backed Ravi Shastri’s time as the head coach of the Indian team is nearing an end. Shastri has decided he’s had enough of sleeping on the job with him stepping down from the role at the end of the forthcoming T20 World Cup 2021.
Ever since news of Shastri’s decision has emerged, the BCCI has gone into overdrive in a bid to find a new name. And while its not been confirmed by the governing council, a slew of reports have gone onto assert that Rahul Dravid is set to take over the role with him being the BCCI’s preferred choice.
Virat Kohli Claims He Has No Knowledge Of Rahul Dravid Becoming The New Head Coach
However, the team’s captain, Virat Kohli claims he has no idea of any such developments. Sitting down to talk to media houses ahead of India’s sojourn at the impending world cup, Kohli opened up on the reports about Dravid with him saying he had no information on that front.
“No idea exactly what’s happening on that front. No detailed discussion with anyone yet,” Kohli said when quizzed on the news of Dravid taking over as the head coach of Team India.
Dravid was involved with the Indian side as the side’s coach during the team’s tour to Sri Lanka earlier this year. With Ravi Shastri and the main unit in England for the CWC final, Dravid had taken India’s second unit to Sri Lanka for the country’s white ball series.
