In a horrifying turn of events, Nermin Sulejmanovic, a bodybuilder associated with a notorious drug cartel in Bosnia, broadcasted the murder of a woman, alleged to be his estranged wife, live on Instagram with the video viral on Reddit

The incident, which took place in northeastern Bosnia, didn’t end there. Sulejmanović went on to kill two more individuals before being cornered by the police, leading him to take his own life.

In the chilling video that has since been taken down by Instagram, but was witnessed by VICE News, Sulejmanović chillingly announces, “Hey guys, you’re going to see something you’ve never seen before – a live murder. It’s a massacre.” The footage then shifts to display a severely injured woman on a bloodied patio, with a distraught child crying in the background.

Identified as Nevzeta Hećimović by the police, the woman struggled to answer Sulejmanović’s demands to know why she had informed the police about him, given the grievous injuries to her face. In a heart-wrenching moment, the terrified woman revealed she was scared for both her and her child’s life.

The video ends with Sulejmanović shooting her in the head, panning over to the crying toddler, and coldly suggesting someone come to the child’s rescue before he exits the scene.

Nermin Sulejmanovic’s trail of violence

It wasn’t long after this horrific act that Nermin Sulejmanovic claimed two more lives. The victims, believed to be a father and son, were identified as Džengiz Onder and Džengiz Denis. Besides these murders, Nermin Sulejmanovic is also thought to have injured three others in his rampage, including a police officer. Tuzla County MUP, the local authorities, made an announcement regarding the incident and initiated an intensive search for the perpetrator. However, as the law enforcement agencies cornered him, the bodybuilder ended his life after a brief standoff.

Nermin Sulejmanovic’s history of violence and crime

Local Bosnian media portrayed Nermin Sulejmanovic as no stranger to crime or law enforcement. He was frequently under police scrutiny, with multiple arrests and convictions tied to violence, drug dealing, and weapon possession. He had previously served at least two years in prison. In another video clip, which surfaced shortly before the police confrontation, Nermin Sulejmanovic cryptically remarked, “(These) are not my first murders. I don’t talk much.”

Domestic violence in Bosnia

In Bosnia, Nermin Sulejmanovic’s violent act against Heimovi is not an isolated case. The Balkan Investigative Network says that more than 60 women have been killed by their lovers in the country over the past seven years. This scary number comes at a time when Bosnian lawmakers are getting more and more criticism for how they deal with and police domestic violence laws.

Meta, the parent company of Instagram, has been reached out to for a statement regarding the incident.
