The end of any anime slate can be bittersweet for fans because we not only have to say goodbye to our favorite series, but there is also some uncertainty about renewals.
The good news for My Hero Academia fans is that season 7 has been confirmed to be in the works, even though the season 6 finale is still a few hours away from airing.
My Hero Academia anime season 7 predicted release date and manga total chapters
Season 7 of My Hero Academia was confirmed to be in production in Weekly Shonen Jump issue #17 by Nobuhiko Okamoto, voice actor for Katsuki Bakugo – with the official announcement having just been made in Japan.
It was only a matter of time before My Hero Academia was officially renewed for a seventh season. Not only is the anime series one of the most popular in the world, but there is still plenty of source material from the ongoing manga to adapt.
Season 6 episode 25 is expected to adapt until manga volume 33 chapter 328, which was serialized in October 2021 and served as volume 33’s final chapter.
The good news Is that 382 chapters from the original manga series have been published in Japan ahead of the season 6 finale. This means that there will be enough source material for Studio Bones within the next few months.
My Hero Academia anime is undeniably popular enough to warrant another TV production, with season 6 being the series’ highest-rated season to date on MyAnimeList.
The series’ resurgence has also resulted in a significant increase in manga sales (a key factor in most modern anime renewals), with more than 85 million copies in circulation.
More information is expected to be revealed at My Hero Academia’s Anime Japan 2023 panel on Sunday, March 26.
Season 7 Release Date
For those who are curious to know more about the release date of My Hero Academia season 7, let us tell you, though the makers of the series has confirmed season 7 to be in development, a target release date has not been shared by Studio Bones; however, we can make an early prediction based on the production cycle from previous seasons.
Season 6 was announced shortly after the season 5 finale in September 2021, with the anime returning to our screens in October 2022 with another 25-episode, split-cour broadcast.
Assuming Studio Bones maintains this 12-month production cycle, My Hero Academia season 7 is expected to premiere in April 2024 as part of the Spring schedule (specifically on Saturday, April 6, 2024).
If Bones decides to wait until all available source material is available, the premiere of season 7 could be pushed back to July 2024 on the Summer schedule.
