What Exactly Happened in Chapter 14
In the opening pages of Chapter 14, titled “Lost Myself,” Haruka and Kisaki set out into the bush in search of a supernatural encounter. Kisaki’s water yo-yos suddenly escaped her hands. When Haruka knelt to pick them up, she couldn’t find Kisaki anywhere.
Haruka located Kisaki, who was just a short distance away and facing the other direction. Kisaki put on a faceless mask in an attempt to scare Haruka, but he seemed unfazed. Kisaki eventually recalled the embarrassingly unsuccessful first time she tried to scare Haruka.
Haruka’s face showed a new emotion this time. He was not startled nor frightened, but he was happy to discover that she was okay. The pyrotechnics no longer held any allure for Haruka; she was transfixed by Kisaki’s face.
Possibly picking up where chapter 14 left off, with Kisaki’s reaction to Haruka, is the subject of chapter 15. After everything they went through in the forest, the two of them will probably get closer.
