2023 Malaysia Masters singles & doubles final schedule, date, venue, & latest results
After his Indonesian opponent Christian Adinata withdrew from the semifinal tie on Saturday due to a serious knee injury, star Indian shuttler HS Prannoy qualified for the men’s singles Malaysia Masters final. Prannoy, the ninth-ranked player in the world, was up 19-17 when Adinata lost his footing and was eventually carried away from the court on wheel-chair.
However, PV Sindhu failed to qualify for the women’s singles finals after losing against Indonesian shuttler Gregoria Mariska Tunjung by score of 14-21, 17-21. The Indonesian player appeared a little worn out and made a few mistakes, but she didn’t let the match get away from her. Following this result, it is confirmed that Akane Yamaguchi will face-off against Tunjung with the women’s singles title at stake.
