George Allen, who was the head coach of the Los Angeles Rams in 1978, is second on the list. George Allen never had a losing season as the head coach of the NFL during his coaching tenure. However, he was sacked after repeated poor performances by the Los Angeles Rams in just two preseason games.

3) Pete McCulley – Francisco 49ers – 9 Games

Peter McCulley worked as an assistant his whole NFL career. In 1978, he was named head coach of the San Francisco 49ers. Pete McCulley led the 49ers for nine games, winning only one and being sacked, placing him third on the list of NFL managers with the shortest tenure.

4) Lou Holtz – New York Jets – 13 Games

In 1976, Lou Holtz was named head coach of the New York Jets. Holtz played only 13 games for the team before resigning with a 3-10 record and one game remaining in the 1976 NFL season.

5) Lane Kiffin -Oakland Riders – 20 Games

Lane Kiffin, who became the Oakland Riders’ head coach in 2007, is ranked sixth on the list. Oakland ended 4-12, and rumours arose that Davis tried many times to convince Kiffin to resign. However, after a 1-3 start in the NFL 2008 season, Kiffin was officially fired.
