Born in Everett, Massachusetts, Mike Borgonzi made four starts as a fullback for the Brown Bears from 1998 to 2001 and was named to the All-Ivy League team three times. Borgonzi graduated with a degree in business management from Brown University. Mike is married to Jill and the duo has two kids Nina and Joseph.
Borgonzi served as the second in command behind Chiefs general manager Brett Veach before becoming a candidate for the Titans’ job and the former Brown University fullback is a native of Everett, Massachusetts, and he was a four-year starter before shifting over to the coaching and front office ranks.

Mike Borgonzi was Amherst College’s tight ends coach in 2002. After that, he worked in Boston’s finance industry for a number of years. Borgonzi was Boston College’s associate recruiting coordinator from 2007 to 2008.
Under general manager Scott Pioli, Borgonzi joined the Kansas City Chiefs in 2009 as their college scouting administrator. Borgonzi was elevated to the position of manager of football operations in 2010. Borgonzi received a promotion to pro scout in 2011.
Under general manager John Dorsey, Borgonzi was elevated to associate director of pro scouting in 2013. Alongside Brett Veach, Borgonzi was appointed co-director of player personnel in 2015.
Under general manager Brett Veach, Borgonzi was elevated to director of player personnel in 2017. Borgonzi was elevated to the position of director of football operations in 2018. When the Chiefs defeated the San Francisco 49ers 31–20 in Super Bowl LIV in 2019, Borgonzi won his first Super Bowl.
When the Chiefs defeated the Philadelphia Eagles 38–35 in Super Bowl LVII in 2022, Borgonzi won his second Super Bowl. When the Chiefs defeated the 49ers 25–22 in Super Bowl LVIII in 2023, Borgonzi won his third Super Bowl.
