The Lanka Premier league was established as a professional franchise cricket competition in Sri Lanka in 2020.
The LPL in July 2024 will feature players from cricket giants like as Australia, England, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, West Indies, and Afghanistan, in addition to other ICC full members.
The league which is gaining popularity and pace, has decided to have a player auction format for the upcoming season in order to allow the clubs more time to put together their squads for the upcoming tournament. While, earlier, the players were selected through draft.

The player’s auction is all set to begin where a number of domestic and international cricket players’ futures will be decided. A spot on one of the five Lanka Premier League 2024 teams is something that the players are eager to obtain.
Over the course of twenty days, each of the five teams taking part in the 2024 edition will play eight games, for a total of twenty four matches. In this double round-robin competition format, the top four teams advance to the play-offs.
When and where will the Lanka Premier League player’s action and the tournament be held?
The Lanka Premier league 2024 auction will be held on May 21 at at Hotel Shangri-La, Colombo. While, the tournament is all set to began from July 1 and will run until July 21 in Sri Lanka. Check out the full schedule and time (IST) below:
