Pakistani climber Shehroze Kashif shared a video call he had with legendary batsman Kohli on Instagram, looking visibly thrilled by the conversation.

Shehroze further claims that in 2022, while in Nepal, he had a conversation with an unidentified Indian who mentioned his connections to the Indian cricket team and thanked him for his efforts.

Who is Shehroze Kashif? 

Shehroze Kashif is a Pakistani mountaineer who was born on March 11, 2002, in Lahore, Pakistan. He has amassed around 49.1k followers on his Instagram account when he posts several snaps of himself around the beautiful mountains. 

Shehroze’s father is Kashif Salman and after setting the world record in 2022, Shehroze was welcomed by his parents, brothers, and friends when he reached Lahore from Skardu.

A look at Shehroze Kashif’s career so far 

Shehroze Kashif is famous for being the youngest climber in history to reach the summit of K2 in July 2021. He began interested in climbing even when he was just 11.

After climbing Makra Peak initially, he went on to summit Musa ka Musalla and Chembra Peak at the age of 12, Mingli Sar in Shimshal at the age of 13, Khurdopin Pass at the age of 15, and Khosar Gang in an alpine fashion at the age of 18.

On May 11, 2021, he became the youngest Pakistani to reach the summit of Mount Everest. On May 16, 2022, Kashif arrived at the top of Lhotse (8,516m), the world’s fourth-highest peak, in Nepal. 

In July 2022, between Camps 4 and 3, Kashif and Fazal Ali disappeared after their successful ascent of Nanga Parbat. Still, the two were located shortly after, fortunately. 

After his successful summit of Everest, he was named Punjab’s youth ambassador by Sports Board Punjab.

After climbing Broad Peak at the age of seventeen, he became known as “The Broad Boy.” He currently holds the record for being the youngest climber of K2 and Broad Peak.
