Khelo India Youth Games 2024 schedule and registration details are out
The Tamil Nadu Sports Development Authority (SDAT) has unveiled the dates for selection trials leading up to the Khelo India Youth Games, slated to take place in Chennai, Madurai, Trichy, and Coimbatore from January 19 to 31, 2024.

Tamil Nadu is gearing up for team sports such as Basketball, Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Hockey, and Football.
India’s sixth edition of the Khelo India Youth Games 2024, which will welcome nearly 5,000 athletes from all over the nation, will take place in Tamil Nadu from January 19 to January 31, 2024 and the Khelo India Youth Games (KIYG) are yearly nationwide grassroots competitions for students in grades 17 and 21, with the top 1,000 winning a ₹5 lakh scholarship each year for eight years.

- Go to the Khelo India Youth website at https://nsrs.kheloindia.gov.in.
- Visit the home page.
- Then Select “Login”.
- Next, select “Don’t have an account?” Click to register.
- It will open the Registration Page.
- Enter the information.
- Upload the scanned documents that were requested.
- Select “Submit”.
- For later use, save your details.
KIYG Required Documents for Registration 2024
- Recently taken passport-sized photo.
- Cell Phone number.
- Aadhaar cards, voter ID cards, or passport.
- Birth Certificate.
- Certificate of Matriculation.
- School Verified Diploma.
- Information of a bank account and passbook.
The Khelo India Youth Games 2024 will be held in Tamil Nadu as the main venue and Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Trichy are the four Tamil Nadu cities where the Khelo India Youth Games 2024 will take place.

Trials Date
The selection trials are scheduled for November 30, December 1, and 2 at various venues in Chennai, including Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium, District Sports Complex, Nehru Park, and MRK Hockey Stadium.
Male and female athletes will be chosen based on outstanding performances, with the stipulation that they must be born on or after January 1, 2005, to qualify for participation.
Age Limit
The age verification process involves submitting documents like Aadhaar card, passport, matriculation certificate (SSLC/X Std), or a birth certificate issued at least five years prior to January 1, 2013, by the municipal corporation or gram panchayat.
Sports Minister Anurag Thakur has announced that the Khelo India Para Games will offer para athletes an equal playing field and an opportunity to be part of the government’s Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS).
Emphasizing equal treatment for para and able-bodied athletes, Thakur highlighted the government’s commitment to providing identical facilities to both categories.
KIYG 6th Edition
The upcoming Khelo India Youth Games in 2024 will mark the sixth edition of the flagship event under the Khelo India initiative, aiming to promote sports at the grassroots level across the nation.
With over 5,000 athletes participating in Olympic, non-Olympic, and indigenous games, the event will be hosted in four cities: Chennai, Coimbatore, Madurai, and Trichy, focusing on the under-18 age category.
Silambam, a form of Indian martial arts, will be featured as a demonstration sport in KIYG 2024. The competition operates in a team championship format, where individual and team medals contribute to the overall tally of their respective State or Union Territory.
The state with the highest count of gold medals is declared the winner. The KIYG 2023, held across eight cities in Madhya Pradesh and New Delhi, saw participation from over 5,000 athletes representing all 36 states and Union Territories.
Maharashtra and Haryana are the only two states that have secured the Khelo India Youth Games titles, with Maharashtra winning in 2019, 2020, and 2023, while Haryana claimed victory in 2018 and 2022.
