2023 Jamaican National Championships schedule, date, venue, & favorites to win
It is confirmed that the Jamaican National Championships will take place at Kingston’s National Stadium over the course of four days, from July 6 to July 9. On July 6, medals will be given out in the men’s 5,000-meter run, women’s long jump, & women’s high jump events. Meanwhile, men’s 200-meter final on July 9 will serve as the meeting’s grand finale.
After leading Jamaica to glory at the 2017 World Championships, Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce will begin her quest for a record-extending sixth world women’s 100m title. Jackson has been on fire this season in both the 100m and 200m, while Thompson-Herah has just recently returned to the track after overcoming an injury. While attempting to improve upon last year’s world silver medal, Shanieka Ricketts has yet to perform at her peak. Ackelia Smith, who set a personal best of 14.54 meters in June, can give Ricketts some tough competition.
