By completing the race in 10.04 seconds, the sprinter has created a history as it’s the 4th-fastest time ever recorded by an under-18 athlete, despite being over a year away from adulthood.
Though, the professional sprinter, who’s ineligible for official recognition due to the tailwind, his final time of 10.17 seconds was both legal and remarkable, placing him 6th on the all-time under-18 list.
The Aussie track star blew the world away with back-to-back runs at the Australian All Schools Athletics Championships where he wrote himself into history by breaking Peter Norman’s 56-year 200m record on Saturday run of 20.04 is the second fastest by an under-18 runner in history, beaten only by American Erriyon Knighton, who ran 19.84 in 2021 and senior men’s world record holder Usain Bolt’s best under-18s time of 20.13 has now been bumped to third all-time.

His real name is Guot though according to his parents.
Born in Ipswich, Queensland to parents from South Sudan, the athlete attended Ipswich Grammar School in South East Queensland.
One of seven children to parents Monica and Bona in a Muslim family, Gout was born in Brisbane in 2007 after his parents migrated to Australia from South Sudan a few years before he was born.
In his younger years, he played football, while admiring his favorite player, Christiano Ronaldo, before transitioning his focus on athletics.
He attends the Ipswich Grammar School in South East Queensland.
Career
By 14, the teenager was outpacing older competitors, and by 15, he claimed the Australian under-18 200m record.
His international debut at the World U20 Championships in 2024 earned him a silver medal. Gout’s exploits have also caught the attention of sponsors, with Adidas signing him in October 2024.
As per various reports, the teenage sprinter has already surpassed the marks set by Australia’s top sprinters at the Paris Olympics.
With plans to train under renowned coach Lance Brauman, he aims to qualify for the Tokyo World Championships in 2025, though he remains grounded, acknowledging that Year 12 still awaits him.
His potential has naturally drawn comparisons to Usain Bolt, given his towering stride and dynamic running style. While he acknowledges the similarities, he is determined to forge his own legacy.
