Cleveland’s Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse will witness Jake Paul and Tyron Woodley take on each other this month on 29 August in a much-anticipated bout. The Youtuber-turned-boxer will fight the former UFC Champion in his fourth professional bout after signing a multi-fight deal with Showtime. According to Mike Coppinger of The Athletic, Paul and Woodley have agreed to a deal for a boxing match.  The two fighters meet on Friday in Miami, Florida for a face-off to promote the event.

Though the fight purse is yet to be decided, it is known that Jake Paul received $690,000 for his fight against Ben Askren. Courtesy of his last fight being promoted by Triller, The Problem Child inked a multi-fight deal with Showtime Sports. Consequently, his matchup with Woodley will serve as the first bout on that contract.

As for Woodley, this fight with Paul will mark his professional boxing debut. Showtime chief Stephen Espinoza has apparently claimed that it will see The Chosen One take home a ‘career-high’ purse. Woodley is getting a guaranteed seven-figure sum that is more than he’s ever made before.

Jake Paul Advocates For Fighter Pay Ahead Of His Fight With Tyron Woodley

Talking about fighter pay, Paul made a brilliant gesture ahead of his fight with Woodley, according to Showtime boss Stephen Espinoza. Paul is co-promoting the event through his company ‘Most Valuable Promotions and Espinoza mentioned in an interview with MMA Fighting how Paul wanted to put together an event where all the competitors were compensated fairly.

He told that when they were putting together the card and working with the promoter, Jake made it a point to ask what each fighter was making. He wanted to know whether the women fighters and the people coming over from the UK were being paid appropriately.
