Ja Morant entourage members banned from NBA games after pointing laser at Pacers players

When people act stupidly, it usually gets them some attention. We can safely assume that Memphis Grizzlies player Ja Morant will receive extensive media attention after his friends point a laser during a game

Morant is apparently being investigated by the NBA for intimidating members of the Indiana Pacers after a heated game by mocking employees and flashing them with a red-dot laser sight, thought to be linked to a gun at the time of the harassment.

The Athletic stated that following Memphis’ win on January 29, Morant and his crew drove up to Pacers players and staff in the FedExForum loading area to slam the losing club.

It all started when Morant’s dad, Tee, and an acquaintance, David Pack, began yelling at Pacers players during a game. During the heated exchange, Pack, the associate, went onto the court and had to be removed from the game.

After the game, Ja, Pack, and their friends waited in two cars to confront the Pacers’ team bus as it pulled away. The conflict started off as a verbal argument that went on for around fifteen to twenty minutes. Morant’s camp members were overheard yelling, “Come get this!” and provoking the Pacers coaching staff, suggesting that things could swiftly deteriorate.

The SUV with Ja and his associates inside drew up to members of the Pacers coaching staff and flashed a red dot laser at them before speeding off after the other vehicle had already departed the parking lot in pursuit of the bus. A member of the Pacers security team said that the red-dot sight looked like it belonged on a firearm.

Two unnamed Pacers coaches tipped off the NBA, which initiated an investigation. They were too afraid of retaliation from Morant’s men for them to reveal their true identities.

“We felt that we were in grave danger,” one of the unnamed coaches said.

It was determined by the NBA that a confrontation did take place between the team and Morant and his company. But no evidence of a weapon was found. Morant’s brother has been banned from games for one year.

Before Sunday’s game against the Toronto Raptors, Grizzlies head coach Taylor Jenkins addressed the rumour. Jenkins claimed the team was cooperating with the NBA’s probe and that the issue was being handled internally.
