The preliminary phase of the competition’s draw for the crosses took place in December of last year.

The group stage’s draw will take place on March 22. There will be three preliminary phases in which 19 South American teams compete for the last four spots.

The phases 1, 2, and 3 crossings will mark the commencement of the Libertadores in 2023.

Three crosses featuring six teams namely, Nacional (Paraguay), El Nacional (Ecuador), Zamora (Venezuela), Sport Huancayo (Peru), Nacional de Potos (Bolivia), and Boston River, will be played in the opening round of the tournament (Uruguay).

The first three clubs in the draw made up pot 1, while the following three made up pot 2.

Phase 2 of the competition, which features the following qualified teams, will include the three cross-winners.

The first pot was made up of the first eight clubs, and the second pot was made up of the remaining five clubs and the three clubs from phase 1.

Phase 3 will feature the final four matches of the preliminary round, with the eight qualifiers competing against one another.

Following the conclusion of the second preliminary phase, the draw for this round will occur; the exact date will be announced.

When will the preliminary phase of the Copa Libertadores 2023 be played?

The first preliminary round of the 2023 Copa Libertadores will take place between the weeks of Wednesday, February 8, and Thursday, February 15, 2023.

The second phase will occur between Wednesday, February 22, and Wednesday, March 1.

The third and final preliminary phase will therefore feature the winners of that round, and it will take place during the weeks of March 8 and 15.
