The ongoing edition of the Formula 1 season is turning out to be one which could go down in the folklore of motorsports. The most competitive ever F! season, its not only the challenge for the tile which is heating up the season.

With every position being extremely hotly and closely fought for, we have been immersed in an edge of the seat sojourn. However, the battle for top spot is by far the most impeccable and riveting with Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton persistently switching hands.

Where Lewis Hamilton was cruising to the marquee title after the early stages of the ongoing season, the Mercedes driver has now been displaced from his thrown. Where Lewis Hamilton has gone off the boil, Red Bull’s Max Verstappen has picked up the speed.

Verstappen clinched the bygone French Grand Prix in intriguing fashion to extend his lead at the top of the rankings. While he and Hamilton have both won the three races apiece, Verstappen has finished in second on three occasions whereas Hamilton has come second twice.

However, despite being touted as the winner of this season already, the Red Bull driver refused to take things for granted. Speaking ahead of the forthcoming Austrian Grand Prix, Verstappen talked about how the season still had a long race to run.

Verstappen also talked about how the race was like a home race only as he stressed upon the importance of weather on the race. He was quick to point out that he envisaged the season continuing in the same gruelling manner as it has.

“It just shows you that the two teams are super close together. One weekend you get it right and the strategy and then the other weekend the other team gets it right so I think in the end it’s really exciting.

“It’s always great to get on top but of course, like when I was second in Barcelona, you just miss out on it but that’s how it goes in racing in general. It’s still a very long season so we just have to keep pushing,” Max Verstappen said.
