Women’s singles top seed PV Sindhu hardly broke any sweat during her 21-5, 21-16 triumph against compatriot Sri Krishna Priya Kudaravalli in just under half an hour.
In the first game, Sindhu teased Krishna Priya. Though she slowed down a little in the second, the former world champion never had to shift into high gear during the 27-minute race.
“The first match is usually crucial, and I didn’t take it lightly.” After the match, she commented, “I just went with the flow and finished it.”
