Swiatek has 2-0 advantage over Krejcikova. At the Italian Open in 2021, the Pole triumphed in three sets as their last encounter.

Swiatek, receiving a bye in the first round, set up a semifinal matchup with Ekaterina Alexandrova. The two were comparable for the majority of the set when serving. The Pole could have won the set on her opponent’s serve at 6-5, but she was unable to do it. She triumphed in the ensuing tie-break, though, to win the opening round.

In the next set, Alexandrova responded by stepping up her performance and swiftly taking a 5-0 lead. She struggled to finish the set on her first attempt, but she was able to accomplish so on her second. The Russian player had the first break point in the third set, but she was unable to capitalise on it. The penalty of her error was high as Swiatek went on a three-game winning streak to grab the lead 5-3. Following that, Alexandrova kept up her serve and saved three match points to make it 5-4. After winning 7-6 (5), 2-6, 6-4, the World No. 1 easily concluded the match to advance to the ninth season final.

Krejcikova advanced to the round of eight after defeating Shelby Rogers in the first round and beating Belinda Bencic on a walkover. She won over Alycia Parks in the quarterfinal match to go to the semifinals, where she took on Elena Rybakina, the defending Wimbledon champion. Although both players got off to a great start, they traded three consecutive service breaks towards the end of the opening set. Finally, Rybakina took control to lead 5-3 and serve out the set. Due to the fact that neither player was able to break the other’s serve, the second set was decided by a tie-break, which Krejcikova ultimately won.

It will be difficult for Krejcikova to keep up with Swiatek during rallies, so she will need to serve well and play quick points. Last week, she had some impressive victories, but she’ll need to raise her game now. With Krejcikova playing in her tenth match in the last two weeks and Swiatek competing in his first competition since winning the US Open, fitness may be a factor. Even though Swiatek is simply too excellent, especially in important matches, Krejcikova has a little chance with to the quick court.
