The International Cricket Council has announced the full list of the nominees of this year. Last year was full of surprises and shocks including Indiaโs defeat by New Zealand by 8 wickets in the 2019-21 ICC World Test Championship in Southampton.
ICC Menโs T20 World Cup of 2021 edition also showed how Australia defeated New Zealand by 8 wickets.
Categories In The ICC Awards 2021 And Nominees List
The ICC Awards nominees 2021 have 13 categories. The nominees were chosen by a panel that has members like popular cricket journalists and Geoff Allardice, ICC CEO.

ICC Spirit of Cricket Award
For the ICC Spirit of Cricket Award, the winner will be chosen by ICC Management from the shortlist recommended by ICCโs Elite Panel of Umpires and Match Referees.
The ICC Umpire of the Year will be determined by the votes of Elite Panel Match Referees and captains of ICC Full Member menโs and womenโs teams.
The Voting academy will decide the Teams of the Year. They will pick out their teams in the batting order, choosing a balanced team of batters, bowlers, and 1 wicketkeeper. For each format, they will also nominate a captain from their shortlist.
The results of who are the winners of the Menโs Awards, Umpire Award, and Spirit of Cricket will be out on January 24. Letโs know the categories and the nomineesโ full list.
Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Menโs Cricketer of the Year
The first category is Sir Garfield Sobers Trophy for ICC Menโs Cricketer of the Year and the nominees are Joe Root, Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Kane Williamson.
ICC Menโs Test Cricketer of the Year
The second category is ICC Menโs Test Cricketer of the Year and its nominees are Joe Root, Kyle Jamieson, Dimuth Karunaratne, Ravichandran Ashwin.
ICC Menโs ODI Cricketer of the Year
The third category is ICC Menโs ODI Cricketer of the Year and the nominees for this award are Shakib Al Hasan, Babar Azam, Janneman Malan, Paul Stirling.
ICC Menโs T20I Cricketer of the Year
The fourth category is ICC Menโs T20I Cricketer of the Year and the nominees for this category are Jos Buttler, Wanindu Hasaranga, Mitchell Marsh, Mohammad Rizwan.
When And Where To Watch, Telecast, Live Streaming of ICC Awards 2021, Date, Time
ICC awards will be streamed live online, according to Indian Standard Time (IST). The award event is likely to start 12:30 PM GST/2 PM IST on 24th January while the women awards will be revealed a day before.
Live Streaming will also be available on the Star Sports channel, OTT apps like Disney+ Hotstar and will also be available on the Facebook and YouTube pages of ICC.
Voting Structure That Decides The Winners Of The ICC Awards
The voting structure that ICC has decided is that 10% of the voting will be taken from fansโ votes and 90% will be from the voting academy. All the players will be rated by the voting academy in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd positions in every category.
And then after taking the votes from the fans and the voting academy together the winner in every category will be declared.
