Domestic Career
Bennett began his career as a domestic cricketer for Canterbury. He was, however, offered a contract with Wellington for the 2018–19 season in June 2018.
With 28 dismissals in twelve matches, he was the leading wicket-taker in the 2018–19 Ford Trophy campaign. With seventeen dismissals in eleven games, he was also the leading wicket-taker in the 2019–20 Super Smash tournament.
Wellington offered him a contract in June 2020, ahead of the 2020–21 domestic season.

International Career
In October 2010, he made his One Day International (ODI) debut against Bangladesh, when he was New Zealand’s top bowler, collecting three wickets. In a tied encounter against India the following month, he made his sole Test appearance. He was unable to bowl in the second innings due to injury after bowling fifteen wicketless overs in the first.
Bennett was named to the New Zealand squad for the 2011 ICC Cricket World Cup, which will be contested in India. After a two-year layoff owing to a significant back injury, he returned to the ODI team in January 2014 to participate in the third one-day match between New Zealand and India. Bennett was picked in New Zealand’s Twenty20 International (T20I) squad for their series against India in January 2020, having last playing for the country in May 2017. On January 24, 2020, he made his T20I debut.

Bennett Announces Retirement
The New Zealand quick has declared his retirement from all forms of cricket, after a 17-year career. The 35-year-old, who has played for New Zealand’s U-19 squad, senior men’s team, and local teams Wellington and Canterbury, has announced that the 2021-22 season will be his final.
Bennett, on the other hand, will continue to play cricket for Martinborough’s Old Tablelands Cricket Club while simultaneously pursuing a coaching career. He is single and is not dating anyone.
