The Obsidian game Grounded, which is playable on Xbox and PC and pits little players against backyard dangers on their mini-adventures, finally has a launch release date for update 1.0
On September 27, Grounded will officially launch after having existed as just an early access product for about two years. In addition to giving information about what players may anticipate from the game’s upcoming flight before that 1.0 release, the creators this week confirmed as much.
Grounded 1.0 Update Release Launch Date, Features
This Monday, Obsidian revealed the complete game’s release date along with a video from Adam Brennecke, the game’s director, outlining some overarching goals for the upcoming update and the Grounded IP as a whole.
What Does This Mean For Grounded 1.0 Production?
That featured a sneak peek at what will appear in the upcoming “The Home Stretch” update, which, as its name implies, will be the last significant update before to the game’s 1.0 release.
The update will feature the full story, surprises, and players will “fully uncover why you’re in the backyard and how you’re going to get out of this mess” and in preparation for the 1.0 update, Obsidian announced today will be the final update for Grounded until September 27. The final update is referred to as the “Home Stretch” and will include:
A pet gnat
A revision to the weapons and armor upgrade system
A new building called the cookery
The meal system will be moved to the cookery so players can use it earlier in the game’s progression.
Two years of building up the backyard in Grounded and Early Access is coming to an end. The 1.0 release is happening on September 27!

The game will receive one more major update after that, although it won’t necessarily be a major one in terms of content. The Obsidian team announced this one will be a little lighter than prior updates as the team concentrates on the significant launch over on page for the most recent flight.
“This update will be notably lighter than previous ones as we have been putting most of our focus towards 1.0 work and polish which will be our biggest content release to date,” Obsidian said. “The Home Stretch (0.14) is the final major update for Game Preview prior to our 1.0 Release in September.”
It’s also important to note that Grounded will cost $39.99 instead of $29.99 when it officially launches, so if you’re intending to buy it, do so now.
Related Grounded news includes the recent announcement that the game would’ve been turned into an animated television series.
The announcement of the animated series stated the following:-
“Facing off against enormous predators, epic natural disasters, and an army of microbots that are part of a corporate conspiracy threatening their town, these teens will need to figure out how to survive in a familiar yet utterly foreign environment that is the backyard.”
