Asaram Babu was represented by noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani as well. Jethmalani and Khurshid both failed to get bail for Asaram Bapu.

On May 23, 2015, Subramanian Swamy, a well-known attorney and BJP member, went before a trial court in Jodhpur for a bail application against Asaram.

Former Union minister Kapil Sibal defended suspended BCCI president N Srinivasan. He is being investigated in connection with the spot-fixing and betting scandal that occurred during the 2013 Indian Premier League season. Sibal had advocated for a strict anti-fixing rule during the second term of the UPA government.

The Lawyers Involved In The Coal Scam

In the coal scam, the court annulled the allocation of 214 out of 218 coal blocks to various businesses since 1993. Out of them, 134 were allocated during the UPA regime. 

Former Union minister P Chidambaram and Kapil Sibal appeared after the 2014 election. The attorneys appeared on behalf of Mumbai-based BLA Industries Pvt Ltd and asked the court to exclude the company from the judgment.g.

Earlier, Ram Jethmalani, a renowned criminal defence attorney and former BJP minister, had testified in a number of high-profile trials. 

In 1984, Satwant Singh and Kehar Singh, who had been given the death penalty for the assassination of Prime Minister Indira Gandhi, were represented by him. Additionally, he defended V Sriharan, alias Murugan, who was found guilty of murdering Rajiv Gandhi. 

He defended prominent BJP figure L K Advani in the early 1990s hawala scam, in which politicians paid hawala brokers unlawful sums of money.
