French Grand Prix 2021 Lowdown Ahead Of FP1
Red Bull The Team To Beat
Red Bull are at the moment the best team on the grid. Both their drivers, Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez, are performing at the level they are expected to. What could have been a perfect podium for Red Bull at Baku, the tires didn’t let that happen. Max Verstappen who was excellent throughout the circuit, crashed with just 2 laps to go. This caused the race to restart with Sergio Perez, Hamilton and Vettel the front three. Sergio Perez with a fantastic display won the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, going ahead of Lando Norris in drivers championship.
Scuderia In Need Of Result
Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz are showing promise as a pair with Scuderia. If Ferrari want to be at the front of the grid, these two are there man. Scuderia look an improved side in 2021 and moved up to 3rd in constructors championship after Azerbaijan.
Leclerc who started at pole in Baku was not able to hold his position and finished at 4th with Sainz at 8th. Catching Mercedes looks like a tough task but with McLaren right behind, the battle for 3rd is one to watch out for.
Driver Battles To Look Forward At French Grand Prix
After an unfortunate ending at Baku, Lewis Hamilton will look to get back at Max Verstappen. The top spot in drivers championship is in balance at the moment and up for grabs. Perez and Bottas have an important role to get points for their teams.
Sergio Perez and in form Lando Norris will be duo to focus on. Norris at the moment single handedly carrying McLaren with Ricciardo still adjusting to new environment. Only 3 points between Perez and Lando, French Grand Prix would be a good test for both
The final battle to watch out for would be of Scuderia and McLaren. After a better result than their competitors, Scuderia managed to move ahead of McLaren. But still only 2 points separate these two teams. All the 4 drivers would be looking forward to get some important points under their name.
Pierre Gasly, Sebastian Vettel and Kimi Raikkonen, who finished 7th in 2019, will be the few other drivers to keep an on.
