Fans will have to wait for updates regarding the complete sprint weekends and the Las Vegas Grand Prix, but the timetable for the record-breaking calendar has been announced.
F1 2024 calendar, teams car reveal launch release dates, pre-season testing schedule
Prior to the grand prix being completely cancelled for the year, as well as for 2021, 2022, and 2023, the event had been postponed in 2020 owing to the COVID-19 pandemic. A record-breaking 24 Grand Prix events are scheduled for the 2024 Formula One season, which will take place all over the world.
This year, three notable races; the Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, and Las Vegas grand prix; will take place on Saturdays. That means the first and second practice sessions will be on Thursday, and the qualifying sessions will now be on Friday.
When does the Formula 1 season start?
The Bahrain Grand Prix will kick off the 2024 Formula 1 season on March 2 at Sakhir. On March 9, the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix will take place in Jeddah. Before the 2024 season opens on February 21–23, pre-season testing will be held at the Bahrain International Circuit.
Less than 30 minutes shorter than last year, the sessions will begin at 10 AM and end at 7 PM local time.
- First day: Wednesday, February 21 (10AM–7PM)
- Second day: Thursday, February 22 (10AM–7PM)
- Third day: Friday, February 22 (10AM–7PM)
When does the Formula 1 season end?
The Abu Dhabi Grand Prix at Yas Marina Circuit on December 8 will mark the end of the 2024 Formula 1 season.
