2023 Formula One World Championship Driver Details & Changes from Last Season
Sebastian Vettel’s Formula One career came to an end after 16 seasons at the conclusion of the 2022 championship. Fernando Alonso, who departed Alpine after two seasons, took his position at Aston Martin. Meanwhile, Pierre Gasly will take Alonso’s place and join Alpine from his previous team AlphaTauri. It is confirmed that AlphaTauri will field 2020-21 Formula E winner Nyck de Vries as replacement of Gasly.
Although Daniel Ricciardo had a contract with McLaren to drive for the team in 2023, it was mutually agreed to end during the 2022 championship after just two seasons. Piastri, who will be competing in his first Formula One race, will take Ricciardo’s place. After three seasons with Williams, Nicholas Latifi departed the team and hence, Logan Sargeant will Formula 2 to make his Formula One debut for Williams. Elsewhere, Mick Schumacher departed from Haas after just two seasons and to replace him, Haas will bring former Renault driver Nico Hülkenberg.
