Ecuadorian influencer Landy Parraga Goyburo is in the headlines after she was killed following her Instagram post inadvertently revealing her location to attackers with the video of her being shot to death now viral
Shortly before her murder, she had shared a photo of her lunch, featuring ‘octopus ceviche,’ at a restaurant where she was soon targeted by two armed assailants.

Surveillance footage captured the chilling moment when two unidentified gunmen stormed into the restaurant where Goyburo was seated with a friend.
As they were talking, the attackers burst in and opened fire, creating chaos and panic among the diners. Goyburo and her companion had no time to react as gunshots echoed through the eatery, sending other patrons scrambling for cover.
Despite her attempts to escape, the 23-year-old could not avoid the deadly attack. One of the gunmen pursued her and shot her at close range, leaving her fatally wounded.
The assailants fled the scene, leaving behind a trail of devastation and shock. Images from the scene showed the former beauty queen lying in a pool of blood.

Authorities believe the killers discovered Goyburo’s location through her Instagram post, which had been shared with her 178,000 followers just before the shooting.
Her Instagram account which goes by the name ‘@landyparraga.ec’ displays her final post, where she’s seen wearing orange swimwear.
In the caption, she wrote, “Life is an echo; what you send out comes back to you.” However, hearing the tragic news of her death, her fans flooded the comments section with emotional messages.
One commenter took to Instagram and wrote, “What a shame, another life lost for posting real-time locations! SOCIAL MEDIA IS AN ENEMY! May God comfort her family.”
Another questioned her cryptic message, writing, “Life is an echo; what you send out comes back to you.” So, what did she do to deserve this?” A third commenter warned, “Walking down a dangerous path rarely leads to good outcomes.”

For the unversed, Landy Párraga was a notable Instagram influencer and beauty queen, achieving fifth place in the 2022 Miss Ecuador competition.
According to reports, it has been suggested that she was romantically linked to Leandro Norero, a notorious drug trafficker who was married and was killed in a prison riot 18 months earlier.
After Norero’s death, investigators found pictures of Párraga and evidence of expensive gifts, such as luxury cars and apartments, that Norero had given her.
Additionally, court proceedings regarding Norero’s accountant, Angulo, revealed that Norero had begged him not to disclose their affair, stating, “If my wife finds out about her, I’m done for.”
Motive Behind Murder
The motive behind the brutal killing remains unclear. Speculations range from Goyburo’s alleged connections with a notorious gang leader to her involvement in an ongoing investigation into corruption within the judiciary and organized crime.
Some rumors suggest that the murder may have been orchestrated by the widow of a drug kingpin with whom Goyburo was rumored to have had an affair.
