Clint Bowyer was engaged in a fatal car accident in which a 47-year-old woman died with Mary Jane Simmons having taken meth
The incident was first reported by WDAF-TV, a FOX News station in Kansas City, Missouri, and happened just before 9 p.m. last Saturday.
Clint Bowyer Car Accident Victim Mary Jane Simmons Had Consumed Meth And Was Sauntering Across The Highway
I think it would appropriate for @espn to include on the ticker they run every 5 minutes that the “victim” Clint Bowyer killed was high on meth and walking on a highway. He has to live with this the rest of his life. Drugs hurt more than just the person taking them!

Bowyer was driving near the intersection of U.S. 54 and Missouri Highway 242 in the Osage Beach area. Bowyer struck a 47-year-old lady walking on the ramp, according to the Lake Ozark Police Department incident report. He subsequently came to a complete stop and dialled 911, but the woman was pronounced dead on the scene.
Mary Jane Simmons, of Camdenton, Missouri, has been identified as the victim. Among her items was a crystalline substance suspected to be methamphetamine.
At the time of the accident, she was suspected of being under the influence of drugs.
Bowyer, 43, showed no signs of intoxication and produced a .000 blood-alcohol content sample at the accident scene. The former NASCAR Cup Series driver now works as a NASCAR on FOX analyst, but he missed last weekend’s Cup race at Sonoma Raceway due to a “personal problem,” as he put it at the time.
Since then, he has issued the following statement:
“Anyone who knows me knows how important family is to me. Ms Simmons’ family and loved ones are in my thoughts and prayers. Please respect my family’s and my privacy as we go on at this tough time.”
