Earlier, on June 15, 2026, the fourth section of the Valencia Court sentenced soccer player Rafa Mir to 8 years and 6 months behinds the bars after finding him guilty of the s*xual assault, which took place on September 1, 2024, at Mir’s residence in the town of Betera, Valencia.
As per the official findings of the court, Mir and other football player, Pablo Jara, met two young women at a night club before inviting them to Mir’s residence.

As per the victim’s testimony, Mir subjected her to double s*xual assualt, involving penetration.
Furthermore, she testified that she cried, had trouble breathing out of fear, and she explicitly asked him to stop, but he refused.
As per the court’s statement, the victim’s testimony was throughly corroborated by forensic reports and witness statements.
What Did Court Ruled?
As per reports, the court gave the professional player a sentence of 8 and a half years in prison, which they broke down into 7 years for s*xual assault and 1 and half years for the bodily injury.
In addition, in direct compensation to the victim, Mir was ordered to pay €64,000. Furthermore, he is strictly prohibited from coming within 500m of the victim’s home, workplace, or relatives’ residence.
His co-defendant, Pablo Jara was also sentenced to 2 and a half years behind the bars for the s*xual assault and offenses against moral integrity.

Growing up in Murcia, Mir began playing futsal, a scaled-down variant of association football between two teams of 5 players each on a court smaller than a football pitch, with CD Javali Nuevo.
After 120-goal spell, he began playing full football with Ranero CF. At the time, in the respective season, Mir scored 57 and 84 goals before joining FC Barcelona.
