Career In Badminton

Chirag was born on July 4, 1997, in Mumbai. He is lucky to have parents who helped him a lot as he became a better badminton player. His dad, Chandrashekhar Shetty, told him and his sister, Arya Shetty, to try any sport they wanted.

He liked individual sports better because he knew how dirty the politics of team sports could be. Chirag chose badminton, which can be played alone or with a partner. However, the doubles became his main event.

Chirag hails from Mumbai is currently ranked seventh in the world in men’s doubles.

Chirag was very young when he showed he was good at sports. His school, Ryan International, named him the badminton champion. At the Uday Pawar Academy, he got his start in the business world. As he became one of India’s up-and-coming badminton players, he moved to Hyderabad to join the Gopichand Academy, which is one of the best places to make world-class players. There, he met Satwigsairaj Rankireddy, his doubles partner from Andhra Pradesh.

Family Of Chirag Shetty

Unlike some parents who tell their kids not to play sports and make them focus on schoolwork, Chandrashekhar and Sujatha Shetty wanted Shetty to get to the top just as much as he did. Arya Shetty, who is also a pro badminton player, is his sister. Chandrashekhar Shetty took care of his son a lot. Even though he didn’t like playing team sports at first, he never gave up.

Instead, he wouldn’t let Chirag be alone for even 15 days. If that happens, he would take his son with him and stay near his hotel room. In India, whenever Chirag has a tournament, Chandrashekhar would go with him. He usually likes to watch badminton matches for fun, but when Chirag played, he would get very nervous. Chirag’s success is mostly due to how much his father cares about him and wants him to win every match.
