Malika Handa is the Indian chess champion who competes in the deaf and dumb chess championships held across the globe. Malika was born in a Punjabi family of Renu Handa and Suresh Handa on 20 March 1995 and is 26 years. She hails from Jalandhar and did her schooling there as well from a local school.
Her father is a chess enthusiast and she was introduced to the game when her father one day bought home a chessboard. Being an expert in the game of chess has helped Malika a lot in her life, even she secured her college seat because of the game.

Malika Handa was born quite normal like other infants and was not having any sort of disability. When she turned 1 she started losing her hearing and speaking capacity and today she is 90% disabled because of her hearing and speech disabilities.
