2023 BWF World Championships singles category schedule, first-round draw, & seeded shuttlers
In the 2023 BWF World Championships men’s singles event, top-seed Viktor Axelsen is considered the overwhelming favorite considering his superb form. However, he is expected to face stern competition from the reigning Asian Champion Anthony Ginting and Thai ace Kunlavut Vitidsarn. For this competition, Kodai Naraoka, Jonatan Christie, Li Shifeng, Loh Kean Yew, & Shi Yuqi are also labelled as seeded players and even experts consider them capable enough to clinch the title.

In 2023, the BWF announced the prize money for the tournaments comprising the prestigious World Tour circuit and the World Tour Finals have the highest payout at $2 million. Next are the Super 1000 or level 2 tournaments with a pot amounting to $1.25 million while the Super 750 tournaments have a total payout amounting to $850,000, which is $430,000 more than the Super 500 tournaments.
