The 2022 BWF World Championships’ men’s singles competition will run from August 22 to August 28, 2022, at the Tokyo Metropolitan Gymnasium. A crucial matchup between Chinese shuttler Zhao Jun Peng and Indian teenager HS Prannoy will take place on Friday to determine who advances to the final four.
26th August: Quarterfinals begin (Starting from 7:30 AM IST)

2022 BWF World Championships Men’s Singles Third Round Results, Score, And Winners
On Thursday at the BWF World Championships, India’s HS Prannoy defeated fellow countryman and CWG gold medal winner Lakshya Sen in a fierce comeback to get to the men’s singles quarterfinals. Lakshya and Prannoy fought valiantly for one hour and fifteen minutes before Prannoy narrowly defeated his teammate by scores of 17-21, 21-16, and 21-17.
Zii Jia’s audacious boast that he wanted to become the first Malaysian world champion was disproved when he was defeated by Zhao Jun Peng of China in the round of 16 21-19, 11-21, 21-19. Elsewhere, Viktor Axelsen, the top seed from Denmark, defeated Thailand’s Sitthikom Thammasin 21-19, 21-16 to go to the quarterfinals.
