After rallying from a 12-point deficit in the deciding game to force his way into the Thailand Open semi-finals on Friday, Lee Zii Jia recorded one of the greatest comeback victories of his career. Lee will face Liew Daren in a coach vs. star pupil showdown after his 21-10, 14-21, 21-16 victory over Shesar Hiren Rhustavito in a swansong match that lasted nearly an hour.
Liew did not disappoint, going the distance in another difficult three-game match against China’s Zhao Jun Peng, winning 21-10, 19-21, 21-19.
