Lee Zii Jia has advanced to the Thailand Open 2022 men’s singles final after overcoming fellow countryman Liew Daren 21-16, 13-21, 21-14. Lee earned six match points and sealed the victory with a cross-court smash that Liew couldn’t reach.
In the men’s singles final, Lee will face China’s Li Shifeng, who defeated Japan’s Naraoka Kodai in a 93-minute marathon. Li Shifeng won after a marathon in which both players were plainly exhausted and took an eternity between points. Shifeng won the match with a score of 21-19, 16-21, 21-19, and he will face Lee Zii Jia in the final tomorrow.
