The 2022 Japan Open, a badminton championship with a $750,000 prize pool, will take place in Osaka at the Maruzen Intec Arena from August 30 to September 4. 2022 Japan Open Badminton Women’s Singles First Round Draw, Fixtures, Players List
Saina Nehwal will be the sole woman representing India at the Japan Open since PV Sindhu withdrew dur to injury. Akane Yamugachi, the top seed and recently crowned world champion will be Saina Nehwal’s opponent in the opening round. Meanwhile, Nozomi Okuhara, the sixth seed, is also included in this section of the draw.
Despite winning BWF World Championship once more, Akane Yamaguchi will be eager to please the home crowd and claim another prestigious tournament. Second-seeded Tai Tzu-ying, third-seed An Seyoung & world championship runner-up Chen Yufei will be major challenge for the Japanese ace and hence, the quest for gold of all these elite shuttlers will be a must-watch.

Points Award System
The BWF point distribution system was used to determine how points were awarded during the BWF World Tour Super 750 competition. The winner of the women’s singles competition will receive 11,000 BWF points, while the runner-up will receive 2,660 points, as per the rules. Athletes hoping to climb the BWF World Rankings will undoubtedly be motivated by the large number of points up for grabs.

Prize Money Pool Distribution
