Hoo Pang Ron & Toh Ee Wei fell in straight sets to Zheng Si Wei & Huang Ya Qiong, the top seed and reigning world champions, in the 2022 Japan Open quarterfinal. In the meantime, the world champion women’s doubles team of Chen Qing Chen & Jia Yi Fan defeated the Indonesian team of A Rahayu & Ramadhanti with scores of 24-26, 21-16, and 21-14.

A star-studded field is competing in the 2022 Japan Open, a prestigious badminton tournament with a $750,000 prize pool and taking place from August 30 to September 4 in Osaka’s Maruzen Intec Arena. Chinese women’s doubles duo of Chen QC & Jia YF continued to march forward in their quest for yet another title as they made a comeback win in Friday’s quarterfinal match.

2022 Japan Open Badminton Doubles Category Quarterfinal Results, Score, Winners, And Korean Dominance

Three pairs from the Republic of Korea will compete in the women’s doubles semi-final of Japan Open including Baek Ha Na & Lee Yu Rim who will play top-seed and reigning world champion duo of Chen Qing Chen & Jia Yi Fan. Meanwhile in the other semi-final, Kim So Yeong & Kong Hee Yong will clash against fellow Korean duo of Jeong Na Eun & Kim Hye Jeong.

The men’s doubles semifinal matches will feature two South Korean teams including Choi Sol Gyu & Kim Won Ho, who will face Chinese competitors Liang Wei Keng & Wang Chang. While in the other semi-final, Kim Gi Jung & Kim Sa Rang will face duo of Kim Astrup & Anders Rasmussen.

Points Award System

The BWF point distribution scheme served as the foundation for the BWF World Tour Super 750 competition. The winning doubles duo will receive 11,000 BWF points per the rules, while the runner-up team will receive 9,350 BWF points. All Indian duos fell in the opening round, which might force them to fall in the BWF World Rankings, despite the significant number of points that were at stake, which definitely would have helped opponents advance.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

The entire prize fund for the 2022 Japan Open will be $750,000 once the awards have been given out in compliance with BWF regulations. The winning doubles team at the Japan Open will receive $55,500 from this prize fund, while the losing team will take home $26,250. The semi-finalist teams will get a prize of $10,500 apiece in the meantime.
