Following a dramatic men’s doubles first-round match of 2022 Hylo Open, Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty overcame Chen Lu & Olympic champion Lee Yang by score of 19-21, 21-19, 21-16. This significant BWF World Tour Super 300 match is currently being hosted at the Saarlandhalle in Saarbrücken, Germany.

2022 Hylo Open Badminton Doubles Category Results Today, Score, Winners, & Round of 16 Draw

At 2022 Hylo Open’s first-round men’s doubles match, Chinese Taipei’s Yang Lee & Chen Lu were defeated by Indian badminton duo Satwiksairaj Rankireddy & Chirag Shetty. Last week’s French Open winner pair of Satwik & Chirag overcame first-set loss against their Taiwanese opponent to ultimately win 19-21, 21-19, 21-16 after 61 minutes. With an 11-8 advantage at the midway point of decisive third-set, Satwik & Chirag took control before converting their first game point to clinch victory. Following this win, third-seeded Indian duo have advanced to second-round, where they will face English pair Rory Easton & Zach Russ.

Elsewhere in women’s doubles division, Gayathri & Treesa duo kicked-off their campaign on high-note after straight-set victory of 21-18, 21-15 against German pair Linda & Isabel. In another tie of men’s doubles, PS Ravikrishna & Sankar Prasad Udayakumar were defeated by fellow Indian pair of Krishna Prasad Garaga & Vishnuvardhan Goud Panjala after 53-minute clash by score of 22-24, 21-12, 21-17. Indian women’s doubles pair of Simran Singhi & Ritika Thaker, lost in their opening round tie and will return home empty-handed. Ravikrishna & Sankar Prasad, who were eliminated in the first round, would also not receive any prize money. At 2022 Hylo Open, champion of each doubles category would receive $14,220 rewards.
