Yonex French Open, a significant BWF World Tour 750 badminton competition with a $675,000 prize pool, will take place from October 25 to October 30 at Stade Pierre de Coubertin in Paris. On Friday, Han Yue will face Carolina Marin in rematch from last week’s Denmark Open second-round while Tai Tzu-ying will face Intanon in another rematch from Denmark Open.

During second-round matches of women’s singles event at 2022 French Open, reigning Olympic champion Chen Yufei crashed out after shocking loss against Ongbamrungphan by score of 21-13, 19-21, 15-21. Meanwhile, Denmark Open champion He Bingjiao continued her fine-form to win in straight-set and qualify for quarterfinal stage, where she will face Ongbamrungphan.

Elsewhere, reigning world champion Akane Yamaguchi secured come-back win against Wang Zhiyi by score of 14-21, 21-6, 21-16 to qualify for final-eight stage. On Friday, quarterfinal matches will be played with Yamaguchi scheduled to face Thai star Chaiwan, who defeated sixth-seeded Nozomi Okuhara in Round of 16. Carolina Marin and in-form shuttler Han Yue also secured their berth in quarterfinal after winning their respective ties.

As per BWF Points System, the winner of women’s singles competition at 2022 French Open, a BWF World Tour Super 750 event, will get 11,000 BWF points. Busanan Ongbamrungphan of Thailand, who defeated third-seeded Chen Yufei in the second round, will have a great competition to get a lot of BWF points from this match and move up in the BWF World Rankings.

Prize Money Pool Distribution

The winner of women’s singles competition will get $44,400 from the $675,000 total prize pool for 2022 French Open, according to an official BWF release.
