The Kerala State Tourism Department has built a floating bridge at Kozhikode’s Beypore beach allowing tourists to walk alongside the waves. The one-of-a-kind bridge was erected to boost tourism in the area.

The District Tourist Promotion Council (DTPC) and the Ports Department assisted in the construction of the bridge. The bridge is 100 metres long and 3 metres broad. The floating bridge is made out of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) bricks and offers a one-of-a-kind experience in the water.

The bridge was built with 1300 HDP bricks weighing 7 kg, according to local media. They can be moved about as required because they can be quickly attached and shook. Supports are delivered at 2-minute intervals in low-lying blocks.

According to Manoramaonline.com, it will be launched on March 31 by state ministers including Ports minister Ahmed Devarkovil, mayor Beena Philip, and CM Pinarayi Vijayan’s son-in-law, PA Mohammed Riyas.

Timing Of The Beypore Floating Bridge

From 11 a.m. until 6 p.m., the bridge is open to tourists. It is supported by a total of 31 anchors totalling 100 kg. The bridge rises and falls due to the waves.

The Capacity Of The Beypore Floating Bridge

The bridge can accommodate up to 500 people at a time.

At this time, however, only 50 people wearing life jackets are allowed to cross the bridge. Tourists may enjoy the beauty of the sea from a 15-meter-wide platform at the end of the bridge that goes out to the sea.

The cost of a ticket to experience the Floating Bridge’s tourism is INR 100 per person.

The virtual guide will be available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, according to their tweet. The state tourism department’s decision to construct a bridge is considered a clever method to advertise and educate visitors about Kerala.
