2023 Asian Games tennis: schedule, date, venue, time, & key Indian players
In the men’s singles competition, Somdev Devvarman achieved an outstanding feat by securing the gold medal in the 2010 Asian Games. He accomplished this by defeating Dennis Istomin with a convincing score of 6-1, 6-2. Meanwhile, in the women’s singles category, Sania Mirza came incredibly close to clinching the gold medal but narrowly missed out. She faced a fierce challenge in a three-set final in 2006, where Zheng Jie emerged victorious.
Meanwhile, Indian men’s doubles teams achieved notable success, with Rohan Bopanna and Leander Paes clinching gold medals at the Asian Games in both 2002 and 2006. In 2010, Somdev Devvarman and Sanam Singh also made their mark by securing a gold medal in the doubles category. In the most recent edition, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan secured a gold medal by defeating Alexander Bublik and Denis Yevseyev with a score of 6–3, 6–4.
