2023 All England men’s singles schedule, date, venue, fixtures, & first-round draw
At the men’s singles event of the 2023 All England Open, Lakshya Sen will attempt to repeat his heroics from the previous year, but he will first have to overcome the fifth-seed Taiwanese ace Chou Tien Chen. In the opening round, Kidambi Srikanth will face-off against France’s Toma Junior Popov in an effort to bag his first viuctory of the BWF World Tour 2023 thus far. HS Prannoy, on the other hand, will begin his campaign against Wang Tzu Wei of Chinese Taipei and may have to face third-seed Anthony Sinisuka Ginting of Indonesia in the second-round.
Given that he is the current world number one, the reigning Olympic champion, and has qualified for the final of seven of his previous eight major tournaments while winning six of them, Axelsen is undoubtedly the overwhelming favorite for this competition. Moreover, there are two Indonesian stars in the men’s draw: Anthony Sinisuka Ginting is seeded third and Jonatan Christie is awarded second-seed. Being in the opposite half of the draw from Axelsen could help Christie advance since he has a 2-7 lifetime record versus the Dane.
