The Durand Cup is Asia’s oldest football tournament and this year’s edition marks the 133rd edition ever since its inception in 1888.

This year’s final match will take place at the iconic Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan (VYBK) in Kolkata, on August 31, 2024.
Heading into the tournament, Mohun Bagan Super Giant are the reigning champions, and will be looking to defend their title this time again.
Durand Cup 2024 teams

Durand Cup 2024 tournament format
The upcoming tournament will consist of 43 matches in total played across a round-robin league-cum-knockout format. The organizers have divided the 24 teams into six groups for the first round. Following the end of the first round, eight teams will advance to the knockout stage, which includes the group winners and two best second-placed sides. From here on out, the teams will compete in a knockout basis up until the final match.
Durand Cup 2024 schedule and venues
This year, the tournament will feature four different venues across Kolkata, Kokrajhar, Shillong, and Jamshedpur. Notably, Jamshedpur and Shillong are set to serve as venues for the first time this year. Kolkata will host three of the groups while Kokrajhar, Shillong, and Jamshedpur will each host one group. The Durand Cup 2024 will take place from July 27, 2024 to August 31, 2024. The full schedule is yet to be revealed.
