The Oklahoma City Thunder’s head coach, Mark Daigneault, has been named the NBA Coach of the Year. He was also a nominee for the award last year and is currently in his fourth season with the Thunder, having compelled them to a 57-25 record and the top seed in the Western Conference playoffs.
Since 2019–20 the Thunder couldn’t make it to the NBA postseason. All thanks in large part to him, the Thunder are presently among the best scoring teams in the league.
Meanwhile, out of 99 voters, 89 selected Daigneault as the winner. The other two candidates were Chris Finch and Jamahl Mosley, the head coaches of the Minnesota Timberwolves and Orlando Magic, respectively.

Who is Ashley Kerr?
Ashley Kerr is the wife of NBA coach Mark Daigneault who currently overseas Oklahoma City Thunder. She was born in Plant city, Florida and has been an assistant coach at the University of Oklahoma since 2020.
Kerr has done her bachelors in business administration from University of Florida. Additionally, she has a master’s degree in sports management as well as in Arts in Telecommunication.
She used her coaching skills to help the Varsity squad place first in women’s gymnastics in 2018 and 2019. Furthermore, she has coached and managed a variety of teams, most notably the women’s gymnastics team of the OU Sooners.
She played collegiate sports with the Florida Gators from 2007 to 2010, winning accolades like a spot on the NCAA Scholastic All-American Team and the SEC Academic Honour Roll. These accolades are usually given to athletes who have continued to thrive academically while maintaining their sporting pursuits.
In addition to becoming the chair of the UF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, Kerr was awarded the UF Alumni Association’s Exceptional Leadership Award in 2010.
