Who is Qiu Qiyuan?

Qiu Qiyuan is a Chinese artistic gymnast who was born on May 24, 2007 in Fujian, China. The young rising star is just 16 years old and is already asking waves.

A look at Qiu Qiyuan’s career

Qiu Qiyuan started getting into gymnastics ever since she was very young although she is still very young. She started performing it when she was four years old.

She is the 2023 Asian and Chinese all-around champion, the 2023 World, Asian, and Chinese champion on the uneven bars, and the 2023 Chinese champion on the balancing beam. Qiu won the bronze medal in the U-13 division’s all-around competition at the 2019 Chinese Junior Championships.

She later earned the silver medal in the espoir division’s all-around competition at the 2019 National Youth Games. In the event finals, she went on to win gold on the balance beam and floor exercise, and silver on the uneven bars behind Huang Zhuofan.

She took home the gold on the balance beam at the Chinese Championships in 2022. In the overall, she placed seventh, and on the uneven bars, she placed fourth.

Talking about her junior career, in 2022, she won the gold medal in the balance beam competition held in China. She came in seventh place overall and fourth on the uneven bars. Qiu became old enough to compete in senior international events in 2023. She made her senior national team debut at the World Cup in Doha.
