According to reports, Amrita, who reportedly lived in Mumbai with her husband, was recently visiting her relatives for a wedding in Bhagalpur.

Popular Bhojpuri actress Amrita Pandey was recently found dead in her apartment in Bhagalpur, Bihar, on Thursday (April 25). According to police reports, Amrita’s sister went up to her room around 3:30 pm and found her hanging from the apartment ceiling fan while wearing her saree. Amrita had just recently visited her relatives for a wedding in Bhagalpur and chose to stay back for a few days.
Amrita Pandey leaves behind a cryptic message
While no suicide note was discovered in and around her residence, reports stated that she left behind a cryptic statement. According to reports, Amrita left behind the following cryptic message on her WhatsApp status just hours before her death:
Kyun do naov par sawaar thi uski zindagi, humne naov dubakar uska safar aasaan kar diya…”
Reason behind the suicide
As of now, there is no accurate reason behind Amrita’s alleged suicide. However, according to Amrita’s close family and acquaintances, she has been suffering from depression and other mental health concerns for quite some time and was in the midst of seeking therapy. Authorities are currently conducting a thorough investigation but currently assume that despair was the reason for her apparent suicide.
According to city SP Shri Raj, authorities have issued a high-profile inquiry into Amrita’s death and dispatched a special team under the command of SP Anand Kumar. Neither Amrita’s family nor her spouse have made any official public statement as of yet.

Amrita Pandey was a famous Bhojpuri actress who was just 27 years old at the time of her death. She was more famously known by her stage name Annapurna and was quite popular in the Bhojpuri film industry. Amrita has previously acted in several Hindi web series, films and commercials. The 27-year-old has also acted alongside Bhojpuri superstar Khesari Lal Yadav in the film Deewanapan.
Husband
Amrita Pandey has been reportedly married to her husband, Chandramani Jhangad since 2022. Jhangad is a Mumbai-based resident originally from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, and currently works as an animation engineer.
