Age 30 Elena Larrea was known for her love of animals and started a place called Cuacolandia horse sanctuary seven years ago. There, she rescued and cared for horses, donkeys, mules, and other similar animals that were mistreated or left alone. Elena made a big impact by helping to pass a law in her state that made bestiality illegal.
When her animal shelter in Atlixco was in danger of closing due to financial problems caused by the pandemic, she got creative and joined OF to raise. She revealed during her tough times, her friends suggested she try opening an OF account.
In the midst of crisis, she made the courageous decision to give it a shot. Miraculously, her leap of faith paid off, and with the money she earned, she managed to rescue her beloved animal sanctuary from the brink of closure. Now, Cuacolandia is a safe haven for almost 50 animals.

He said, ‘With the Ministry of the Environment, we can guarantee the protection of the animals at Cuacolandia.’
They vow to assist in caring for other horses, both rescued and yet to be rescued, prioritizing their welfare. Governor Salomon pledged to follow Elena’s lead and honour her legacy. Elena, who cherished horses since childhood, expressed her deep love for them before her passing.
