Ali Akbar will now be known as Ram Singh after he decided to quit his religion Islam in the aftermath of abhorrent messages mocking the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat
As news of CDS General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulikha and 12 others being involved in a Mi-17 IAF helicopter crash in Tamil Nadu came in, ripples were sent across India. The country was overtaken with grief as it was affirmed that General Rawat, his wife and 11 others had lost their lives in the calamity, ones which left the country devoid of the august company of some of the bravest armed forces personnel.

From a cobbler, auto driver to rest of India, the country stood in solidarity to pay respect to the departed souls, names who gave their lives to the service of the country. However, everyone wasn’t overcome with sorrow with a section of Islamists and left-leaning society rejoicing in the death of the CDS with social media riddled with messages of celebrations from these deranged people.
Irate as seeing manifold people from his community reveling in the demise of the 13 people, Malayalam director Ali Akbar announced that he would be leaving Islam protesting against those who had celebrated the death of CDS General Bipin Rawat. Ali had posted a video on Facebook lambasting the Islamists who were celebrating the death, a video which was subsequently taken off the platform for inexplicable reasons.
Ali said, “Within five minutes of speaking out against those who put up emojis, the account was blocked. I can not accept it, I can not agree with it, so I’m leaving my religion. I or my family no longer have a religion. That is the decision.”
While the director will practice no religion, he will now be known as Ram Singh, the reason for which he alluded as, “Ramasimhan is a person who was killed while sticking to the culture of Kerala. Tomorrow Ali Akbar will be called Ram Singh. That’s the best name,” he said.
Ramasimhan and his family were killed by Islamists in 1947 after they converted to Hinduism from Islam in 1947 in Malaparamba.
