Wednesday is the start of the National Open Athletics Championships 2023 at Bengaluru’s Sree Kanteerava Outdoor Stadium. Among the competitors are well-known Indian athletes Annu Rani, Jyothi Yarraji, and Kishore Jena, who are competing in the Asian Games in 2023.
Neeraj Chopra ended his Asian Games campaign with a gold medal, while Kishore Jena, the second-ranked guy from India in the men’s javelin throw, won the silver and will compete in Bengaluru.
On the other hand, In Bengaluru, one may witness Annu Rani, the national record holder for women’s javelin throw in India. Annu became the first Indian female javelin thrower to win a gold medal at the Asian Games, tossing a season-best 62.92 metres to triumph in the women’s event.
More talented athletes competed in the Bengaluru meet, including previous national champions in the men’s triple jump Karthik Unnikrishnan and men’s 20-kilometer race walk Juned Khan.
