The 16-second video which has gone viral on social media shows former tennis star Bernard Tomic being mercilessly attacked by two unidentified men.
The assault video’s origins and date remain shrouded in mystery, but it is believed to have taken place outside a tattoo parlor on the Gold Coast, where Tomic currently resides. While Tomic had recently been competing in a Challenger Tennis event in Istanbul, this footage appears to be from some time ago.

Bernard Tomic’s career has been a rollercoaster ride, with the once-promising young talent climbing as high as world number 17 in 2016. However, he has faced a steady decline in rankings and found himself at the 292nd spot in the world, a far cry from his former glory.ย
The assault video paints a grim picture of the Australian tennis star’s current situation. Tomic, who was once a Wimbledon quarter-finalist at the age of 18, now finds himself grappling with the aftermath of this brutal attack.ย

The footage shows him cowering on the ground, desperately trying to shield himself from kicks and punches. Profanity-laced verbal abuse is hurled at him as one man repeatedly asks, “You want to f*** with me?” The video concludes with the assailants instructing Tomic to get up as they try to grab him by his clothing.
This 30-year-old Queenslander may not have graced a grand slam event since the 2021 Australian Open, but he has remained active in Challenger and ITF tournaments, fighting tooth and nail to reclaim his former glory.
This incident of violence is a harrowing setback for Tomic, who has been working diligently to rejuvenate his career. While his rise from a ranking of 825 to 292 was impressive, it was not enough to secure him a qualifying wildcard for the Australian Open Grand Slam earlier this year.
